New font chooser not working

I like the idea of the new font chooser giving you a live preview of the chosen font a lot!

Unfortunately it isn’t working for me. Tapping on it does nothing. If I type in a valid font, I will see an accurate preview of it next to the parenthesis, which is nice. But neither tapping on the preview or tapping on empty parenthesis does anything.

revision actually it does work in a way, just only once, right after I open a project, and only if I tap it before the keyboard appears. After that it won’t work again unless I close the project first.

I’m seeing the same thing. I find it decidedly inconvenient.
