Most programs put things on the screen, and they stay there until you take them away.

Codea is like a film, a movie. It draws the picture, then it draws it again every 1/60 of a second,…So you don’t need to remove a sprite, just stop drawing it.

you just stop drawing it

you manage the sprite x,y and draw youself. When you want the sprite to be somewhere on the screen just put sprite( name, x,y) inside the draw() function.

theSpriteIsHere = true -- set this to false to 'remove' the sprite from screen
function draw()
    if theSpriteIsHere then sprite( name, x,y) end
end
