I have an idea!

Why don’t you make a settings thing so that you can change it to kid mode!
Hope this gets in! Thanks!

@AwesomeCodeaKid Coding is as hard or as easy as you want to make it. It will be hard if you try to write code without learning anything about it. It will be easy if you read the tutorials and learn the language. Tutorials can be found at the top of the forum by selecting the work “Wiki”.

Try Gamesalad, its pretty simple to make games with and requires no programming, but can’t do it on iPad… and requires $300 per year for subscription to use iAds/IAP.

It’s a lot more satisfying to learn to write code and make a game from scratch though.

I know, but I’m only 9 years old

@AwesomeCodeaKid thanks for your idea! We have a separate app called Codea Scratchpad that is free on the app store — it’s a bit simpler, but I think it could be simplified more for a younger audience. I’ll give it some thought.

I think Hopscotch is kicking all sorts of butt in the simplified approach to coding, but anything that makes Codea more accessible but still allows it to retain it’s power is a good thing.
