How can I use collideConnected on a distance joint?

I have two physics bodies that are connected by a distance joint. My problem is that i still want them to be able to collide (if the proper forces are applied to them). Some research on box2d says I should be able to set a collideConnected property to still allow that, despite being connected by a distance joint. It doesn’t seem to work in Codea. Any ideas why doesn’t work?

I also saw mention of collideConnected in the codea runtime which makes me believe it’s available at some level, but maybe intentionally inaccessible?
