Congrats on the release, @Andrew_Stacey!
Nice- congrats on getting it on the apple store
Hi @andrew_stacey.
I am thinking about making a very simple app to release on the store, as a free app, just to experiment the whole process of compiling on a cloud mac, submitting, etc… One idea i have is making a very simple FFT image filering app. That would be fun and fairly easy, and yet not so common on the store. Would you allow me to use some of the bricks of your library for that? That is the complex number computations and fft? I could rewrite it, but it would save me some effort if i can use your code. Let me know!
@jmv38 yes, of course you can!
I made a lot of my CC0 (aka public domain) so there’s no issue with licensing. Please let me know if you come up with any improvements.
With FFT, I think that there are better routines if your vectors are of length a power of 2, can you get away with that?
Thanks!
Well i have not used your fft routine for the moment. I assumed you had inplemented the butterfly algo, which means (in general) power of 2. If you have not, then i’ll simply code it myself, the reccurence formula is quite simple, it should not be that difficult.
I check in the version of your lib i had imported some time ago:
1/ wow! You really implemented everything to process complex numbers! Actually i just need addition and multiplication…
2/ i dont find fft in that version. I thought you had send me one, about one year ago, and it was in your lib…? Did you remove it sonce then?
Ah i found it. It is in the vector tab.
And it is more an FT than an FFT.
But in that old thread i found a post of @PTN who send me a transform butterfy based. I’ll use it then. Thank you @PTN!
You’re welcome. Too busy at work to code myself, so it’s nice to see someone using it.
To be honest, I still read the forum daily even though I’ve made no code for months…
Keep up to good work guys!
